FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about planning your mindful journey to Bhutan.

What is the best time to visit Bhutan?

+

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are considered the most beautiful times. During spring, the wildflowers are in bloom, while autumn offers crisp, clear skies and the most vibrant festivals.

Do I need a visa to enter the Kingdom of Bhutan?

+

Yes, all international tourists (except for Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals) require a visa. We process the visa on your behalf once your trip is fully booked and paid.

What is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)?

+

Bhutan follows a “High Value, Low Volume” tourism policy. The SDF is a daily fee of $200 per adult ($100 for children) that goes directly towards the country’s carbon-neutral status, free healthcare, and education for the Bhutanese people.

Is Bhutan safe for solo travelers?

+

Bhutan is widely regarded as one of the safest countries in the world. However, all tourists are required by law to travel with a licensed tour operator/guide, which ensures you are accompanied and supported throughout your stay.
